Introduction

So far I have published six books. Five of them are described below. For each of the books below, the authors provided me the text files on diskette and ideas for the covers. Working with the programs, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, I designed the covers and turned their texts, slides, and photographs into printer-ready files. From that point, each author chose a printing company after some price comparisons, etc.

Fees

The total cost of each project will vary depending on the complexity. But in general, for making a 200-300 page book print-ready, including front and back cover, I charge $600 - 800. This cost is based on either a simple graphic cover, or a cover design that includes photographs or slides provided by the author. I can not produce original artwork (other than photo manipulation, collages, etc) but will certainly incorporate any provided.

Online Books or Ebooks

I can also clean up your text files and convert them to an online Ebook, complete with 3D cover, for a reasonable price.

If you are interested in any of the above, please send me an e-mail for further information.

ALIAS ALBERT JOHNSON

He was known as the Mad Trapper of Rat River. In this fictional account he goes from a farmer to a war hero only to be denied by his country. He rides the rails, finds love, loses his family and now he is on the run,

"Billy the Kid" and a young Eskimo girl are his only allies in his desparate bid for freedom. Labelled a cold-blooded cop killer, the Mad Trapper must make it across the border or die.

Tony Lopolio, literary agent for 15 years in New York City, had this to say about Nelson Lewis' new novel: "The writing is excellent, the narrative compelling and the dialogue great."

AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT - A Boy and His Grannie

Monty Raine says the following about his new novel:

Anyone who has survived their childhood has something substantial to write about.

  • Orphaned when two years old in 1935
  • A grandmother who lost two daughters in quick succession, one my mother, yet rose from despair to become not only my legal guardian but also my earthbound Guardian Angel.
  • A weave of mostly joys, some sorrows, and a sprinkling of earthy humour during a muddled childhood
  • Sophistication was not an attribute to be lauded when I was growing up in England's North East - the home of the Geordies and Catherine Cookson Country.

TROUT TALK

From 1998-2003, the author wrote a series of fishing columns for the Similkameen News Leader, a small weekly community paper in Princeton, BC. This book is a compilation of over 100 of those columns.

John Sandness is a retired biology teacher with a Master's degree in aquatic biology and entomology, and also an addicted fly fisherman. He moved to Princeton for just a couple of years and now 35 years later, continues to live in the best Kamloop trout fishing area in the world!

His professional biology teaching career combined with his extensive fly fishing experience provide an entertaining and informative look at fly fishing in several areas of the world including Norway, Iceland, United States and Canada

PLATINUM VALLEY

The latest novel by Monty Raine.

Platinum Valley unfolds in the scenic Tulameen and Similkameen region of British Columbia’s Southern Interior.

From a chance meeting at the abandoned coal-mining town of Blakeburn, a new future for two strangers is set in motion.

Walter and Doris slowly become enmeshed in a net of their own making. Is this an improper romantic affair? You be the judge, if judgment is needed.

ONCE WINTER COMES

A new novel by Nelson Lewis.

Once Winter Comes is a novel set in Canada's wildly beautiful Yukon Territory. It is the story of an old prospector and a young Indian boy and how they struggle to cope with the changes to their beloved North Land. Once Winter Comes is a compelling story that will grip your imagination 'til the last page is turned.

PATRIFIED

This is the latest CD by my son, Pat. I did the cover art using a combination of local Princeton scenery with standing stones from Scotland. Using Photoshop tricks, I carved the guitar out of stone and turned Pat's photo into a stone sculpture. The whole effect was finished by adding shadows.
